VConsol App-Kerala based Video Calling App developed by Kerala startup company Techgentsia Wins the Indian Government’s innovation challenge. The Firm was selected as the winner in the central government competition for developing the perfect and reliable video conference solution under the Digital India Initiative on Thursday. The winner was announced by Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on August 20, 2020. Techgentsia Software’s clients include small and medium firms and multinationals from the US and Europe. The company’s videoconferencing solution for the contest is called Vconsol.

In the year 2009, ‘Vconsol’, a product of the Techgentsia Software Tech Pvt Ltd was founded by Joy Sebastian. It was also declared the Winner by Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in New Delhi. This Kerala based IT firm will now get financial support of Rs 1 crore and also an additional 10 Rs lakh. The financial support will be provided for the coming three years for maintenance and operation purposes. It is great news for all the team members and management of Techgentsia and also will give them the motivation to do something better in the coming days for sure.

The competition was held in normally three stages. The first stage included the proposal submission. Through this, 1983 companies were nominated. In the second stage, companies need to submit the prototype. By doing this stage, only 12 companies were only selected and Techgentsia was the only company from Kerala. The Indian Central Government has given Rs 5 lakh to develop the prototype. In the third stage, only five companies were selected and Rs 20 lakh each was given to three companies and Rs 15 lakh each for two companies. The CEO of Techgentsia “ Joy Sebastian” proudly said that ‘Vconsol” will be used by the Government of India for video conferencing.

The Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad by announcing the final winners of the Grand Challenge has stated that the government was fully committed to developing India’s mobile app and software product economy in a better way and efforts like this will surely help in reaching at a top direction for sure. Ravi Shankar Prasad also stated that India will become the main hub for software products in the coming years. He motivated and appreciated the hard work of the IT Industry to leverage existing policies and the enabling ecosystem to position the country as a global powerhouse for software products by building innovative Made-in-India offerings.

Techgentsia is also acting as the main and reliable IT partner of several projects in Kerala. This firm also played a vital role by developing various apps for relief and rescue works. It has even developed software for telemedicine, school digitization, online education, IT platforms for vegetable aggregation, and so on. All the 50 colleagues of Joy at Techgentsia are mainly responsible for achievement and success. Joy has been working in the field of video conferencing for many years now and soon he would be launching some new mobile app and software products as well.
